The rivalry finale.
It’s series finale time, which is good and bad. On the bright side, it means the San Francisco Giants get to move on and face other teams that aren’t the ridiculously good Los Angeles Dodgers. On the down side, it means the Giants no longer have a chance to gain a full game in the standings with only a win.
Take your pick.
Either way, the finale is an uphill battle, because the Giants are facing Walker Buehler, who is a really good pitcher on most days, and the best pitcher in MLB history on days when he faces the Giants. Buehler has a 2.05 ERA and 3.09 FIP on the year, with 183 strikeouts to 44 walks in 176 innings.
Against the Giants, the righty has a 0.79 ERA in 5 starts, with just 28 baserunners allowed in 34 innings.
Best of luck, Giants.
