Former Giants manager Bruce Bochy is teaming up with Buster Posey once again.
They’re among a cast of baseball stars signing autographs Saturday, Jan. 11 in Concord to raise funds for Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation, which needs a new roof for its national headquarters in Walnut Creek.
Other tandems signing beside Bochy and Posey are Albert Pujols and Dennis Eckersley; Mark McGwire and Dave Stewart; and, La Russa and Reggie Jackson. Also scheduled to appear is Oakland A’s shortstop Marcus Semien.
The “Sport Stars Raise the Roof” autograph session will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Concord Hilton. Tandem autographs will cost $200, and upgrades to a bat or jersey cost an additional $100, with personalized inscription running $25.
Signing during the 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. are Bochy-Posey, La Russa-Jackson and Semien, followed from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by McGwire-Stewart and Pujols-Eckersley.
Autographed baseballs by Matt Chapman or Jack Flaherty cost $50, authentication services are available for $10, and La Russa also will offer memorabilia from his personal collection. Tickets can be purchased online. (The 49ers playoff opener will be on televisions within the signing vicinity.)
