Asthon Goudeau has been DFA’d to make room.
In search of a bolt to help their team skyrocket up the standings, the San Francisco Giants have made a waiver claim, and added outfielder Skye Bolt.
Oh yeah. That’s the name.
To make room on the 40-man roster for for Bolt — who was waived by the Oakland A’s — the Giants designated right-handed pitcher Ashton Goudeau.
The Giants have claimed OF Skye Bolt off waivers from the Oakland Athletics. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Ashton Goudeau has been designated for assignment.

Bolt, who is a 27-year old switch-hitter, was a fourth-round pick in 2015, and was the A’s No. 16 prospect a year ago, as ranked by Fangraphs. He has quality defense and good speed, and has flashed a little bit of power and a decent ability to draw walks.
He’s only played in five MLB games — all in 2019 — and for his career has hit 1-11 with 1 triple and 1 walk. But in 2018 he hit .266/.382/.521 (140 wRC+) in more than 200 high-A plate appearances, and .256/.325/.446 (109 wRC+) in more than 300 AA plate appearances. He struggled a little bit in AAA in 2019 (.269/.350/.456, 96 wRC+), but is certainly an intriguing talent.
Bolt will presumably report to the Alternate Training Site in Sacramento, and likely begin the season in AAA when the Minor League season starts in May.
