Just in time to Beat LA.
Hello and happy Monday.
What a Monday it is. The San Francisco Giants are starting a four-game series tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and it’s quite an important one. You could make a pretty strong case that it’s the most important series of the season thus far for the Giants.
And it looks like they’ll have their MVP back for it.
Buster Posey hasn’t played since suffering a thumb contusion on July 4 after taking a foul ball off of the base of his thumb. The injury unfortunately cost Posey the chance to travel to Colorado last week, after being named the starting catcher for the National League All-Star team.
But it looks like Posey will return to action during this series, perhaps as early as tonight.
Kapler says Posey could start as soon as tomorrow in LA. Not set in stone, will depend on how he’s feeling tomorrow of course. But the progress has been significant.

Having Posey back would be huge, given the magnitude of the series and how much it will impact the NL West standings. Plus, Posey has a 1.004 OPS in seven games against the Dodgers this year, so …
In conclusion, Beat LA.
