The Giants are heading to Colorado to take on the Rockies in the scariest place known to man.
Good morning, baseball fans! The San Francisco Giants are back in first place, and all seems right with the world again.
Except, wait, what’s that sound? A faint scratching noise is coming from the next room. Is that….?

My god. They say the scariest time of the year is October, when Halloween is approaching. But in the NL West, the scariest time of the year is when your team heads to Colorado to play baseball on the hellmouth that is Coors Field.
This could go well for the Giants’ offense, which has been a bit lackluster over the last week. Or it could tear up an already overworked pitching staff. Or both! And there are somehow six of these left before the end of this month.
And naturally the first game is a day game, coming after a shortened travel day, with the Giants playing Sunday Night Baseball last night. With the endless comments on the sunlight and shadows on the field, as though games are normally played at 4:00 p.m. at Oracle Park.

But at least the team got a happy flight after yesterday’s win, which will hopefully give them the momentum and strength of spirit they’ll need to survive the next three games.

Gonna manifest some success with this one.
