Hello and happy Saturday.
Lately there have been a lot of articles about the top prospects in baseball, which gives us a chance to see how the San Francisco Giants farm is looking. When I think about the farm, one of two things happens. Either I get irrationally optimistic, and look at old farm reports to quell my enthusiasm, or I get irrationally pessimistic, and look at old farm reports to feel better.
Anyway, yesterday i got caught up looking at old top 10 Giants prospects lists, and thought we should all revisit the team’s top 10 from 10 years ago, per MLB.com.
You ready? Take a deep breath. Here we go.

Ouch! Not fun!
Now, every class is different, and I think it’s safe to say that we would be sorely disappointed if the Giants current top 10 didn’t surpass the … uhh … -0.4 rWAR that those 10 players provided for the Giants during their careers.
In hindsight, that’s a funny top 10. But yeesh.
