The home stretch is officially here.
Hello and happy Sunday.
It’s home stretch time. The San Francisco Giants have 20 games remaining in the season. 142 down, 20 left. 142 times you’ve wondered what will happen. Will they get their butts kicked? Will they throw a no-hitter? Will Brandon Belt hit a home run? Will that one player who’s been playing really well keep playing really well?
And now you only get to do it 20 more times. Well, only 20 more times in the regular season, that is.
And then it’s the Giants in the postseason, for the first time since 2016.
There isn’t really a point to this article. It’s just that 20 games left feels significant, both for the journey, and for the NL West lead, which the Giants are trying to hang onto so they can avoid a tiebreaker game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The most exciting days are still ahead of the Giants, but it’s still odd to think that this magical season is nearly over.
Old, random MCC article for you to read
The Giants might not have both Jarrett Parker and Mac Williamson on the roster (Feb. 15, 2017 — Grant Brisbee)
What time do the Giants play today?
The Giants play the Chicago Cubs today at 11:20 a.m. PT. More brunch baseball!
Have a great Sunday, friends.
