Logan Webb is here and he’s ready to end this tomorrow night
Good morning, baseball fans. I know it’s a rough one and things seem kind of bleak. This series has not gone well for the San Francisco Giants, despite being tied. They’ve been blown out twice, and only scored more than two runs in the first game of the series.
But you know what tomorrow’s game and that first game have in common? Logan freaking Webb, who pitched an absolute gem in his postseason debut. He’ll be going up against Julio Urías for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who has made the Giants look foolish in his last two starts against them, but you know what? I’m comfortable betting on the Giants behind Webb.
My brain likes to find patterns. It’s part of what makes me such a superstitious baseball fan (and I’m trying not to take it personally that the Giants have managed to lose almost every single game I’ve either recapped or been to in person this year) but I’ve also witnessed this: shutout, blowout, shutout, blowout. My optimistic side is rooting for the pattern to continue. And I’m okay with it going five if that means the Giants get to end this thing at home in front of their fans.
In case you missed it in the misery of last night’s game, the Atlanta Braves clinched their series last night and will be ready to face whoever wins tomorrow night this weekend in the National League Championship Series.
And finally, to end this on a high note and remind everyone that the Giants are, actually, a competent baseball team capable of great and wondrous things in tight situations, I’d like to remind everyone about Brandon Crawford’s amazing catch on Monday night that inspired the latest gem from Breaking T, titled “Air Brandon”
Wanna get that, wanna get that, wanna get that.

Big fan of manifesting what you want to see so let’s take a look at another time when the Giants had their backs against the wall in the NLDS.
NLDS Game 5: Giants stop hearts, advance to NLCS (October 11th, 2012 – Grant Brisbee)
What time do the Giants play today?
They do not. No one does. It’s a baseball-less day because this is the only series that hasn’t ended yet. It’s awful and I don’t like it. I recommend getting some extra sleep to prepare, or going back to watch inspirational speeches from Hunter Pence.
