In-Game Notes

  • I saw Steph right after yelling to himself, I wondered if he was frustrated at not getting the relocate.

  • Wiggins taking over the game and dragging it out of blowout territory. He’s so comfortable on the second unit with Paschall and him taking turns attacking.

  • Steph counters the PG top lock and arm lock by backdoor cutting. Good move but sadly the shot blocked hard

  • Clippers should feel bad that GSW got within 6. I missed Q1, but from the score, should I gather that Wiseman got torched?

  • hah, felt a bit bad for Steph there, he got past a trap at the top of the key and no one else on the team moved the whole time. He just stopped and looked at the sky.

  • LAC is disrupting our elementary understanding of the O by overplaying the first pass in sets, often very innocent swings across the top

  • It must be nice to overplay the passing lanes against a team that is too disorganized to backcut on you.

  • Well, not looking promising, by LAC is a bit hot shooting and GSW a bit cold. If that flips, this could get close again.

  • The Wiggins-Kawhi duel is way more interesting than you’d expect

  • You know I was looking at that Wiseman – P Bev jump ball and of course Wiseman taps it to the wrong side and LAC recovers

  • [several LGWers said it was the correct side] I’d have to look at a replay again, but I saw two Dubs lined up on the left side, not the Steph right side

  • Maybe, but Wiggs has drawn a number fouls on KL and seems to bother his shot

  • I tell you, there is something about Wiggins that bothers Kawhi. I can’t completely explain it

  • Oubre going to challenge the Pietrus record for stepping out on the sideline

  • Haha, KL steal on Wiggs, Wiggs gets it back. If someone just clipped the isos between the two, this would be a pretty fun game.

  • Steph gets doubled on the HORNS Curl Split, somehow GSW can’t take advantage. Looney bobbles the pocket pass. Steph goes 1 v 5, somehow gets out of the corner trap, but charge.

  • Motion Weak PNR gets Steph a 3 attacking Zubac early. Every time LAC goes up by 20 the mercy rule is LAC has to put Zubac back in. He’s a good player, but not a good matchup for him to guard Steph.

  • Steph to Mulder on the 2 v 1 break. One of the very rare fast breaks run well this year

  • Hey, great pass from Mulder. I think two Clips followed over the stagger screen, Looney cuts open. *followed Steph… who else on this team would two Clips follow (sad laugh)

  • Where are we as a country if a young man like Looney is not free to warmly hug his colleague Kawhi… are we robots? Are we golems? Are we

  • Have I mentioned Steph is only fully alive during the 2-for-1? No guilt.

  • That stagger screen is the only play I’ve seen working for Steph v LAC. Maybe because he can stay on ball with a phalanx of blockers and not rely on someone else playmaking

  • Maybe the bench can keep it to single digits and then randomness can ensue?

  • Ah… leaving Steph in?

  • What a skip pass to Damion!! Wow. Double comes up high wing… Going at Zubac and Kennard relentlessly.

  • Zubac cannot handle Gramps!!

  • The bench is the plucky 13 seed that doesn’t know to give up

  • I’m surprise Wiggs isn’t out with second unit. Maybe managing Wiggs minutes due to his contusion

  • I assume down the stretch if it’s still a game, they will go to that stagger screen for Steph until it’s solved

  • Paschall shoots 10% better on shots when he fully kicks himself in the butt

  • Dray posted up Bev… when Damion hoisted the 3, Dray sagged with every cell in his bode

  • Sweet… PG had Wana…I kept saying Don’t let him pull up, don’t let him pull up… yes, shot clock

  • There is the stagger screen for Steph again. Just run that over and over. Got Wiggs a decent look, charge

  • Sweet tap that gets Dray an OREB and AST on the same touch.

  • Jesus, that LAC corner 3, i have to rewatch to see why it’s always open. Maybe over helping in the paint? Huge OREB from Wiggs

  • Last year, the Warriors motto was “Close Enough To Be Exciting”. Let’s see if we can do a little better this year and actually close

  • I’m still expecting LAC to hit a zillion 3s on us, but… we’re definitely in range of puncher’s chance to grab this

  • Bev coming to screen for KL. I wonder if Steph will try the High Tag D

  • Steph Dray and three sort of shooters.

  • yep, Steph Dray PNR with 3 shooters. But Dray with the sweet fake

  • I *think* that was a Dray fake handoff. Super unhelpful camera

  • Definitely will take a coin flip against LAC

  • DEFINITELY in random ending territory here

  • That was not good offense, with Steph forcing Kawhi off Wiggs to get… PG on Wiggs. No I cannot endorse that Wiggs just pulled that 3 out of his butt. Also: YEAAAAAAAAAAH

  • Steph pulls a 3 out of his own butt. PG in the mixer

  • Up 12, 38.8 sec left. I…. think… they got… this…….?

  • I think it would be too much to just E1P live react to that entire last run (from Q3 end) but this game is begging for that

  • I really don’t like dumping on Oubre, so I won’t do it in an article but… the offense did come alive once he got off
