Want to write about the Warriors? Now’s your chance.

You’re probably aware of the unfortunate fact that the Golden State Warriors have missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons, after attending the NBA Finals in five straight years. As a fan, you may have felt helpless these last few years, watching your team lose with no way to help.

Well have I got news for you: you’ve now got a way to help.

Golden State of Mind is adding writers to the team. I’m assuming you’re reading this post because you read this site, which I’m assuming means you’re a Warriors fan, which I’m assuming means you like to talk about the Warriors.

So here’s a chance to talk about them, for a larger audience, and for money.

Plus, you’ll receive full credit if and when the Warriors return to the postseason in 2022.

What do the roles entail?

We’re adding a few people for a handful roles, and pretty much everything is on the table as long as it’s centered around the Warriors. We’re looking for people to cover news, recap games, deep dive into plays and analysis, send out tweets dripping in lightyears exceptionalism, write funny and creative posts about your favorite team, and help moderate the community.

We’re looking to fill out a team to have the most comprehensive — and creative — Warriors coverage around, so we’ll be bringing on multiple people to join the team.

All of the roles are contract, remote, run year round, and are paid with a monthly stipend.

What qualifications are required?

While we won’t say no to anyone who has earned their PhD in sports blogging, it’s totally fine if you don’t have any experience writing about sports.

Here’s what you should have:

  • Good writing skills with the ability to self-edit
  • Be comfortable working remotely
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Have a passion for the Warriors, and Klay Thompson in particular, because Klay Thompson is freaking awesome

How to apply

To apply, please submit a resume, cover letter, and at least one writing sample (preferably sports writing) at the listing here. In your cover letter, please specify if you have specific areas you’d like to write about (i.e. analysis, draft prospects, newsers, etc.), and roughly how much work you’re looking for.

If you have any questions at all about the roles or process, feel free to leave a question in the comments and I’ll address it.

Thanks everyone!
