Steph Curry, James Wiseman, and Kevon Looney could all return vs. Knicks

The Warriors might be getting a blast of health all at once.

The Golden State Warriors are in the midst of having two straight off days for the first time since the calendar rolled over into February, and it looks like it’s paying dividends. After Monday’s practice, Steve Kerr made it sound like the Warriors could be welcoming three players back into the fold Tuesday night against the New York Knicks: Steph Curry, James Wiseman, and Kevon Looney.

Curry was a game time scratch for Saturday’s heartbreaking loss to the Charlotte Hornets, as he was dealing with an illness (which the team was quick to confirm was not the coronavirus). But he went through a full practice on Monday and, barring a setback, looks ready to return to normal.

And it seems he’ll likely be returning to a larger lineup. Looney has missed 10 straight games with a sprained ankle, while Wiseman has missed 11 straight with a sprained wrist. That’s left the Warriors without a center, but not for much longer. Both big men went through practice on Monday, and seem primed to return.

The return of a center could be huge — pardon the pun — against the Knicks. Not only does it give Golden State a bigger body to match up against Knicks center Nerlens Noel, but it allows Draymond Green to slide down a position and defend the Knicks offensive star, Julius Randle.

This is all contingent on Tuesday’s re-evaluation, so hopefully neither player experiences any swelling after a full day of practice. But it sure would be nice to see one or both of them on the court on Tuesday.
