The Los Angeles Lakers made a huge splash in free agency, signing a plethora of veteran players to one-year deals. One of the veterans they signed this offseason was Kent Bazemore, who spent the 2020-21 season with the Golden State Warriors.
Earlier this week, Bazemore posted a picture of him officially signing his new contract on Instagram.
“LA Vibes on deck! Finally able to soak it all in,” Bazemore wrote. “Grateful for another opportunity to hoop! Back in the purple gold. Feels right. My locker is beside LeBron James’ for the time being. Imma leave him some UA hoodies for old times sake. Stay tuned.”
That post from Bazemore brought a tear to Steph Curry’s eye, as he responded: “Congrats bro! Gonna cry when I get in the car tho.”
Curry probably isn’t going to cry in his car, but it’s pretty evident that he had a strong connection with Bazemore.
Next season will mark Bazemore’s second stint with the Lakers. Last season, he averaged 7.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Warriors.
Bazemore won’t light up the boxscore for Los Angeles, but he’s a two-way player who can give Frank Vogel quality minutes off the bench.
The Lakers are considered the favorites to win the Western Conference heading into next season.
