Steve Kerr told Shaun Powell of NBA.com that he’s enjoying developing the Golden State Warriors roster this season despite the losses.
The Warriors are currently 4-19.
“I’m actually really enjoying this season. And that may sound strange,” said Kerr about the changing expectations surrounding the team following injuries to Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson.
Kerr added that the team’s goals this season is to develop their young roster and see who can contribute next year when their core returns.
“The whole point this year is ‘let’s get healthy, let’s really try to develop these young guys and see if we can fortify our roster and develop some players who can be a big part of our future, bring back our regular guys and make a run at it again.’ It’s exciting,” said Kerr.
Kerr observed that this season has made him a better coach, stating that “this is much more about teaching and developing young players.”
