We’re 40 days away from Golden State basketball.
It turns out we’re only 40 days away from some sweet, beautiful, Golden State Warriors basketball.
The Dubs announced their preseason schedule on Wednesday, which features five games: Monday, Oct. 4 at the Portland Trail Blazers; Wednesday, Oct. 6 vs. the Denver Nuggets; Friday Oct. 8 vs. the Los Angeles Lakers; Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Lakers; and Friday, Oct. 15 vs. the Blazers.

After the fifth and final preseason game, the Dubs have just four days before kicking off the season in Los Angeles against the Lakers on Opening Night.
Truthfully, there’s not all that much that can be learned from preseason. It’s too small of a sample size, in meaningless games, to really derive much meaning from how anyone is performing, whether they be proven vets or youngsters trying to crack the roster. Klay Thompson won’t be back from injury yet, so we won’t even get to see how he looks.
But it’s still Warriors basketball, and Warriors basketball is worth not only watching, but celebrating. Plus we may gain a little insight into Steve Kerr’s rotations.
40 days, Dub Nation. 40 days until Steph Curry makes the nets swish.
