While the 49ers offense has stolen the headlines this offseason, it’s their defense that might wind up spearheading any kind of postseason run. A unit that’s been strong since 2019 returns virtually all of its starters, and made a couple intriguing additions along the defensive line and at cornerback in the offseason. All signs point to the 49ers defense at least being good, and the ceiling may be higher than the one set back in the 2019 Super Bowl run.
