49ers re-sign LS Taybor Pepper to a two-year extension

The San Francisco 49ers have already re-signed cornerback Ken Webster and Jeff Wilson Jr. this offseason. With a laundry list of free agents to sign, we can expect a ton of news as we get closer and closer to free agency.

On Thursday morning, the Niners announced they re-signed long-snapper Taybor Pepper to a two-year extension to keep him in San Francisco through the 2022 season. The 49ers first signed Pepper at the end of September in 2020 after the team had issues with Kyle Nelson snapping. Nelson struggled as he had five bad snaps in one game. Pepper did not have those same issues as a snapper.

Pepper ended up playing 12 games this past season with the 49ers. Before his time with San Francisco, Pepper played with the Packers, where he appeared in four games during the 2017 season. Pepper landed with the Giants on a Reserve/Future contract in December of 2018 before being waived by New York prior to the start of the 2019 season. Miami signed Pepper shortly after he was released, and Pepper appeared in all 16 games with the Dolphins before being waived in May of 2020.
