It needs to be said at the top here that the chances are good the 49ers won’t be super active at the trade deadline, which is scheduled for Nov. 2 at 1:00 pm Pacific Time. That’s especially true if they beat the Bears in Week 8 and hold a 3-4 record when the deadline arrives the following Tuesday.
On the other hand, the 49ers could lose Sunday and leave themselves at 2-5 with a long climb just to get into the playoff conversation again. That could compel them to maybe be more active at the deadline to try and recoup some draft capital after losing so much in the trade up for quarterback Trey Lance.
If teams do call San Francisco ahead of the deadline, the 49ers have a slew of desirable pieces that could be enticing for clubs trying to push themselves over the hump in the second half. If a team calls general manager John Lynch before the Nov. 2 deadline and wants to overpay, the 49ers would surely listen.
