Colin Cowherd has unveiled plenty of quarterback lists during his time at FS1. His latest rankings, however, are getting scrutinized to a whole new level.
This afternoon’s list for Cowherd was based off quarterbacks’ production and salary. As a result, his first tier for quarterbacks includes Josh Allen, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson.
Of course, there’s one notable name missing from that first tier. Despite being widely considered the best quarterback in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes is part of the second tier for Cowherd.
The second tier also features Jimmy Garoppolo, Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson. Yes, you read that right – Garoppolo somehow cracked this list.

It’s tough to justify putting Garoppolo on the same tier as Jackson, Mahomes and Watson. Even if his contract is reasonable, the reality is he’s rarely healthy. He missed 13 games in 2018 due to a torn ACL, and the missed 10 games this past season because of a high-ankle sprain.
If Cowherd didn’t want to put Dak Prescott on this list since we’re not sure what he’ll make in 2021, that’s understandable. However, there were plenty of options to place over Garoppolo, such as Derek Carr, Matthew Stafford and Ryan Tannehill.
Also, how in the world does Mahomes fall to the second tier? That just seems foolish, regardless of what the former MVP is making.
