Raheem Mostert was expected to carry most of the load at running back for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The team ruled out rookie running back Trey Sermon before kickoff, appearing to signal that it is completely Mostert’s show.
Unfortunately, things have not gone according to plan for the 49ers.
San Francisco’s starting running back suffered a knee injury in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
Mostert is officially “questionable” to return against the Lions in Detroit.
“49ers’ RB Raheem Mostert questionable to return today due to a knee injury,” ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted.

Of course, this is bad news for the 49ers. It’s also bad news for fantasy football owners, who were hoping for a big day from the 49ers running back.

Mostert had two carries for 20 yards prior to suffering his injury.
The 49ers are tied with the Lions, 7-7, in the first half. The game is airing on FOX.
