If the New York Jets don’t acquire San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, it won’t be for a lack of interest or a lack of effort.
Reports have emerged this weekend that the Jets are “all in” on trading for Samuel ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft. Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network reported that the Jets are prepared to offer the No. 10 overall pick in the draft to bring him into the fold.
The Jets tried and failed to land perennial Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this offseason. They seem intent on making sure that the versatile Samuel doesn’t get away from them.
Fans of both the Jets and the 49ers seem fine with the idea of trading the 10th overall pick for Samuel. Jets fans know they have enough high draft picks for the trade to work, while 49ers fans believe it’s good value for a player who doesn’t seem to want to play for them anymore.

Honestly I’d do it. Don’t love the top of the draft and still have 2 high seconds https://t.co/hmX5Up3zjN

Deebo is an amazing talent, but at that price, the Jets can have him. https://t.co/cx3KqeF5Hk

Deebo Samuel had a breakout season with the 49ers in 2021. He had 77 receptions for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver, leading the NFL in yards per catch.
But Samuel also proved to be a dynamic playmaker as a running back. He had 365 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground while averaging 6.2 yards per carry.
Combine that with his prior relationship with Jets head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur and you have what seems to be a no-brainer of a trade.
Will Deebo Samuel be traded to the Jets?
