The 49ers are almost certainly going to trust their offense to a quarterback with only two career NFL starts and one full season as a college starter at the FCS level in 2022.
It is anybody’s guess how the switch from Jimmy Garoppolo to Trey Lance will pan out. However, given the expectations surrounding a team that has been to two NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl in the last three seasons, one thing that can be guaranteed is an outsized amount of pressure on the 2021 third overall pick’s shoulders.
Yet Lance is not the sole member of the 2021 draft class who will have to rise to expectations this coming season.
Indeed, there are a host of other second-year Niners set to take on prominent roles in 2022, along with others who may already be fighting for their place on the roster.
Of the non-quarterbacks selected by San Francisco in 2021, these five players stand out as being under the most pressure for their sophomore season.
