Chicago Bears’ wide receiver might hit the free agent market
There has been so much talk about a possible Las Vegas Raiders’ pursuit of Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams in free agency in 2021.
However, there could soon be another free agent star wide receiver from the NFC North who might have a better chance of landing in Las Vegas: Allen Robinson of the Chicago Bears.
Chicago gave Robinson the franchise tag this year, but were unable to get a long-term deal done before last week’s deadline. There is a lot of speculation that the Bears will let Robinson walk in free agency next year rather than tagging him again.
Adams could still sign a new deal with Green Bay and the Packers could franchise tag him to keep him from leaving in 2021. So Robinson may be a better bet to hit the market.
There are already betting odds where he will land in free agency next year and the Raiders are one of nine teams to have odds priced. Las Vegas is 14-1 to sign him, which is tied for the sixth-lowest odds.
The Raiders could easily be interested in adding a big-dollar receiver in free agency, especially if second-year players Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards don’t both take major leaps in 2021.

Robinson, who turns 28 next month, will be one of the most sought-after free agents next year if he does hit the open market. He has had a combined 200 catches and 2,397 yards in the past two seasons. That is remarkable production considering the Bears’ have had shoddy quarterback play in recent seasons.
A receiving core that includes tight end Darren Waller, Robinson, a speedy Ruggs and young slot receiver Hunter Renfrow would be pretty terrifying for opposing defenses. Will it happen? I wouldn’t discount the possibility.
The Penn State product, who is entering his eighth NFL season, will have a chance to get a feel for Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium when the Bears visit the Raiders in October. Perhaps it won’t be his final game there …
