Our Las Vegas mock with some wheeling and dealing
Earlier this week, we did a full Las Vegas Raiders mock draft.
We are taking another crack at it with some spice by including trades in this mock. Before we start, below is our first mock:
No. 17 — USC Offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker:
He’s still my top pick. I like that he is a a safe bet to be a quality player for a long time.
No. 30 —- TCU safety Trevon Moehrig:
We got a trade. The Raiders are sending No. 48 and No. 80. picks to the Buffalo Bills for the chance to take the best safety in the draft. Yes, the price is steep, but to get two first-round picks and to fill two need areas in the first round, it’s well worth it. Moehrig is a plus player. The key is to get him past the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 25.
No. 74 — Pittsburgh defensive end Patrick Jones III:
We got another trade. The Raiders send No. 79 and No. 162 in the fifth round for the chance to take this stuff from Pitt. Jones is a complete player, who has good pass rush juice. It’s worth the short trade up
No 125. – West Virginia linebacker Tony Fields:
We have another trade. The Raiders send No. 121 to the Minnesota Vikings for No. 125 and No. 199. Fields is a great value here. He is great against the run (the Raiders need that) and he produces (the Raiders need that). A good pick for the future.
- No. 167 — Louisville linebacker Dorian Etheridge:
- Another linebacker depth piece to develop.
- No. 199 — Florida defensive tackle TedIarrell Slaton: He weighs 356 and he plays like a smaller paler. Slaton is very strong and athletic. He’s worth a flier.
No. 200 — Iowa tackle Alaric Jackson: The Raiders finish the draft where hey start — with another offensive linemen. They have to re-stock the position and this is a player worth taking late.
The Raiders’ draft class goes from eight to seven and they grab another first-round pick and add at plenty of spots.
