Las Vegas sheds another big salary
The Las Vegas Raiders are in full swing in the salary cap dumping process as they are now reportedly parting ways with slot cornerback Lamarcus Joyner.
The #Raiders are releasing DB Lamarcus Joyner, source said. He was set to make $9.95M and in this cap environment, that was tough to make sense of. Another starter available in FA.

The Raiders previously cut wide receiver Tyrell Williams and are reportedly going to release guards Gabe Jackson and Richie Incognito, although they may bring back Incognito on a lesser deal.
Las Vegas should be about $10 million under the projected $180 million salary cap. There is $2.5 million in dead cap space on Joyner’s contract, he signed a four-year, $42 million deal in 2019. Joyner made $22 million for 28 games for the Raiders, but didn’t have an interception with the Raiders and only defensed eight passes in two seasons.
The Raiders have made a lot of mistakes in free agency under Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock and Joyner is one of the bigger whiffs. His release is not a big surprise.
The Raiders will likely cut more players in the next week with right tackle Trent Brown and backup quarterback Marcus Mariota being possibilities.
