Raiders News: Hunter Renfrow Signs Two-Year, $32 Million Extension

The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Friday they signed wide receiver Hunter Renfrow to a multi-year extension. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is believed to be for two years, $32 million.

Renfrow, the No. 149th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, had a career year with the Raiders as he recorded 103 receptions for 1038 yards and nine touchdowns. Renfrow was rightfully named to his first Pro Bowl and made his name as one of the best receivers in the NFL.

While he may not be the centerpiece of the offense, Renfrow is a crucial cog, and Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels said expressed how excited the organization is to keep him long-term.

“We are thrilled to have reached an agreement with Hunter Renfrow and look forward to seeing him in Silver and Black for years to come,” said Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels. “Hunter is one of the true leaders on this team, and he exemplifies the values of the organization in how he comes to work every day. He is a tremendous teammate on and off the field and the entire Raider Nation is excited to see what the future holds for Hunter.”

In what was an up-and-down year filled with plenty of off-the-field distractions, Renfrow was one of the team’s few bright spots and constants. Together with Derek Carr, Renfrow helped lead Las Vegas to the Wild Card round, where they came close to advancing to the postseason.

The 2022 season will be all about the addition of Davante Adams, but his presence should only make things easier for Renfrow, who has a knack for getting open and making timely plays. The Silver and Black have a gem in Renfrow and having him for the long haul only bodes well for their success.
