Howie Long nominated famous fan for election
This has been a tough year for all sports fans, but the Pro Football Hall of Fame is still continuing its great tradition of honoring hardcore fans throughout the league by electing a 2021 class to its Ford Hall of Fans.
There is a Las Vegas Raiders’ flavor to the final list. You may not always know the name Wayne Mabry — but you surely know who the “The Violator” is — and he’s one of the finalists for the Ford Hall of Fans. The class will be announced soon.
The three fans all received enough votes to go the final step of the election process, which has been a public vote until this point.
Mabry was nominated by Raiders’ Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive lineman Howie Long. A Raiders’ season-ticket holder for 37 years, he is famous for dressing up in his unique game day costume and roaming the parking lot and stands, firing up fellow Raiders fans.
Mabry is a friend of this community and we congratulate you, Violator. Good luck the rest of the way.
