Raiders QB is said to be a “hot commodity”
So much for an offseason free of Derek Carr reports and rumors.
After Carr had a nice 2020 season for the Las Vegas Raiders, it seemed like we would all be spared (Carr included) of talk that Raiders coach Jon Gruden will move away from him. Not so fast.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported late Tuesday afternoon that the Raiders are ready to take calls from interested teams about Carr and then they could use those picks to pursue Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Multiple @NFL sources indicate to me that Derek Carr is a hot commodity. And it is expected that multiple teams will pursue him via trade That could lead to the @Raiders pursuing Deshaun Watson in a blockbuster trade. My story:https://t.co/rnxHJK9KC0

In a sense, this report doesn’t surprise me. After the Matthew Stafford-Jared Goff trade this past weekend, the quarterback value market changed.
It does behoove the Raiders to listen to offers and to see what happens, but that doesn’t mean anything will happen …
Tuesday, Gruden said he didn’t think Watson would be dealt.

If this story develops, we will be there every step of the way.
