The San Jose Sharks will hit the ice at Enterprise Center tonight and once again, they’ll be without the services of Erik Karlsson and Radim Simek.
The St. Louis Blues were the second team the Sharks faced this season, with a 5-4 loss and a 2-1 shootout win in January. The Blues have since gone on to take hold of second place in the West Division with a 9-5-2 record.
A weak spot in their play has been special teams, with a power play that ranks 26th in the league, converting just 12 percent of the time, and a matching 26th-ranked penalty kill at 73.8 percent. It’s a rough season in San Jose, but they’ll have an edge in special teams play, so they’ll need to take advantage.
Defender Colton Parayko will be out of the lineup tonight for the Blues.
