The two AL series switch locations
The American League postseason teams got a day off to travel on Saturday, while the National League played their own Game 2 matchups. Now on Sunday the NL is on the road, while the AL is ready to resume their series at their new destinations.
Today brings Game 3 for both ALDS pairings. The Tampa Bay Rays visit the Boston Red Sox, with their series split at one game apiece so far. Then tonight the Houston Astros visit the Chicago White Sox, with the Astros leading 2-0 in the best-of-five series and looking at a chance to sweep.
Red Sox vs. Rays
After the Rays won the opener Thursday, the Red Sox responded in a big way Friday. Boston scored 14 runs, slugging five homers along the way including one by J.D. Martinez in his return to the lineup after a brief injury. Tampa Bay scored five runs in the 1st inning but didn’t do much after that as the Sox took over in a 14-6 victory.
Now the series shifts from Tropicana Field to Fenway Park. On the mound for the Rays is Drew Rasmussen, acquired from the Brewers midseason in the Willy Adames trade; he made three starts against the Sox this year and they were all short but good. For Boston, Nathan Eovaldi faced the Rays four times this year and was good in three of them.

White Sox vs. Astros
The series has been all Astros so far. They won both home games in Houston by comfortable margins, including a 9-4 victory in Game 2 on Friday. It was tied after five innings, but the Astros scored five in the 7th including a homer by Kyle Tucker, who led the way with 3 RBI.
Now they head to Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, and the Sox hope to avoid being swept out of the ALDS. On the mound for them is Dylan Cease, who finished third in the league in strikeouts but also lost both of his starts against the Astros this year. Houston sends out Luis Garcia, who had one of his best starts of the season against the Sox back in June.
