Springs takes the mound looking for series win
The Athletics go for the series win this morning against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. After splitting the first two games. Jeffrey Springs will take the mound for the A’s. The 32-year-old lefty is 8-6 on the season, with a 3.93 ERA in twenty games. He beat Cleveland in his only other start against them this season, going 7.1 innings and giving up just one run on three hits while striking out six. Springs will match up against 25-year-old righty Gavin Williams for the Guardians. This season he’s 5-4 with a 3.70 ERA in nineteen starts. He has not faced the A’s this year.
