Back at it down in Texas
Game time everyone! The A’s are ready to roll against the Rangers tonight in the second of four against their division rivals.
The A’s will see left-hander Jacob Lopez make his first start for the team today since being recalled from Triple-A. He’s pitched in relief for the Athletics and has yet to allow a run in 4 1⁄3 innings at the big league level. While he’s exclusively come out of the bullpen for the A’s he has made a pair of starts (3 total appearances) for the Aviators down in Triple-A and had put up a 2.45 ERA in 14 2⁄3 innings. This will be just his third career major league start.
The A’s lineup behind Lopez will break down like this:

Lawrence Butler is back in his usual leadoff spot after dropping to sixth in yesterday’s contest. Meanwhile Jacob Wilson will get the night off as Max Schuemann takes over at shortstop.
Texas will turn to former Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom tonight. The future Hall of Famer has gotten off to a good start to the season as he has a 3.33 ERA in his first five starts of the season. Texas’ lineup behind deGrom will look like this tonight:
