Fresh series!
Fresh off a series win the A’s continue their road trip by heading down south to sunny Florida, ready to take on the Miami Marlins for a quick three-game weekend series. Sounds like fun!
The Marlins enter this contest losers of five straight. Hoping to make that six in a row the A’s will give young right-hander Gunnar Hoglund the ball tonight for his first career major league appearance. Hoglund has been on a roll in Triple-A and the team is desperate for someone to claim the fifth starter’s spot in the rotation. Hoglund will get the next crack at earning the job.

Another off day for right fielder and regular leadoff man Lawrence Butler while Jacob Wilson takes over at the top of the lineup. Seth Brown takes over in the field.
Miami will go with Valente Bellozo for tonight’s contest. He’s made two starts for the Marlins this year and has a 2.25 ERA to show for it so hopefully the A’s can bump that number way up by the end of the night.
