A’s look to break the wrong kind of streak!
The Inter-League series with the Philadelphia Phillies comes to a close for the Athletics today at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. The A’s are hoping to avoid a twelfth loss in a row and a winless homestand before heading to Houston on Tuesday.
A’s manager Mark Kotsay will be sending rookie right-hander Gunnar Hoglund to the mound today. Hoglund is 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA in four major league starts. He’ll go up against former A’s lefty Jesus Luzardo, who is 5-0 with a 1.96 ERA in ten starts over sixty innings. He has been dominant this year but has yet to pitch in West Sac.
