Desperate for a win
The A’s are experiencing their worst stretch of baseball all year. They’ve only won once in the past two weeks and are currently on a three-game losing streak. They’ll try to snap that today in Toronto when Game Two against the Blue Jays gets underway.
Left-hander Jeffrey Springs will get the ball trying to play topper for the club. After some serious struggles in his first month with the team he’s turned things around and been the club’s best starter in the month of May with a 2.05 ERA. He’ll get one more start before the calendar flips to June and he’ll try to lower than number even more today in what will be his 12th start of the season.

Lots of rookies at the bottom of that lineup. It would go a long way towards a win if they can get some production out of those guys.
Fans will get to see a familiar face on the opposing mound when old friend Chris Bassitt takes the ball for the Blue Jays. The veteran righty has been the team’s best and most consistent starting pitcher this year. A tough task to be sure, but one the team can pass with flying colors.
