Time to win the series!
The A’s came up short last night in the middle game of their series against the Guardians, but now that’s in the past and they can only look forward. They have a chance to win the series with a victory today, hoping to finish off the Guardians before hitting the road.
Taking the ball for the home team will be left-hander JP Sears. Things have gone off the rails for him in recent outings after being the team’s most consistent starter for the first month-plus of the season. He’ll try to recover and change things up today in what will be his 16th start of the season. He’ll be hoping to lower his 5.45 ERA this afternoon against a Guardians team that doesn’t have the most impressive lineup.
The starting lineup for today’s contest looks like this for the A’s:

That lineup will be going up against Guardians starter Slade Cecconi. The right-hander has a 4.15 ERA in his first season with the Guardians, but has looked more impressive than that number suggests in his six starts with Cleveland.
