Going for the series win against the Bronx Bombers
The A’s got a solid, all-around team win yesterday when they beat the Yankees 7-0 to even the series. Now they’ll try to win the weekend matchup against New York’s AL squad in an early morning series finale that’ll pit Luis Severino against his former team.
After spending the first eight seasons of his career in pinstripes, Severino is now on the other side of things pitching for the A’s. You may have heard about his recent comment criticizing the A’s temporary ballpark, but pitching back at Yankee Stadium should be a sort of home coming for the veteran righty. He’ll bring a 4.83 into today’s contest.

As you can see the A’s will be going with the exact same lineup for the finale as they went with in yesterday morning’s win. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, right?
New York’s starting pitcher this morning will be Marcus Stroman, who is returning from a long and difficult stint on the injured list to finish the finale for the Yanks. He hasn’t pitched in the major leagues since April 11th so it’s been a long layoff for the veteran righty. His rehab didn’t go as smoothly as the Bombers likely would have hoped but they will still turn to him in hopes he can get himself and his squad back on track. A’s will be playing spoiler in both departments this morning.

No Giancarlo Stanton in this morning’s lineup, but there are still plenty of dangerous bats in New York’s lineup that Severino will have to navigate.
Let’s go A’s!
