Try again after losing last night’s series opener!
The Oakland A’s are in the Windy City for four games, but last night they lost the opener to the Chicago White Sox. On Tuesday they’ll look to even up the series.
The A’s turn to their ace starter, Chris Bassitt. The Hound is hot over his last three appearances, totaling 20 innings with just one run allowed and an impressive 21 strikeouts to three walks, but those games came against weak competition (Angels, Rangers, Indians). Now he’ll get a tougher test in the White Sox, who are first place in the AL Central and Top 10 in the majors in runs-per-game.
Oakland’s lineup gets back one of its everyday players, as shortstop Elvis Andrus was activated from the paternity list. In Chicago’s lineup, we get a look at old friend Jake Lamb, who played well for the A’s at the end of last year. Lamb missed all of July to a quad injury, returning around a week ago, and in limited duty this summer he’s batting .215/.330/.398 with a decent 106 wRC+ mark.
