With just minutes to spare before the deadline, the Athletics have reportedly traded outfielder Miguel Andujar to the Cincinnati Reds:
The Cincinnati Reds are acquiring OF Miguel Andujar from the Athletics. @AriA1exander on it.

In return for two months of Andujar’s services, the A’s will get pitching prospect Kenya Huggins, a right-hander prospect that ranked 22nd in the Reds’ farm system.
It’s an unsurprising outcome all things considered. Always considered the most likely Athletic to move prior to the deadline, Andujar’s time with the A’s comes to an end after a year and a half. The righty-swinging Andujar will now join a Reds team that is just three games back of a playoff spot, a much-better position for him over the final two months of the year than with the bottom-dwelling A’s.
The A’s made sure to come away with a lottery ticket and that’s exactly what they’re getting in Huggins. The 22-year-old missed a couple of years due to a Tommy John surgery but has pitched well in High-A this season, posting a 3.69 ERA in 15 starts (18 appearances). While he has a strong fastball and intriguing slider, his ultimate role may be in the bullpen. But as with the A’s earlier acquisitions today, they’ll have plenty of time to test him out as a starting pitcher. Welcome aboard Kenya!
