After finishing the regular season top of the American League West, the Houston Astros were impressive in the post-season to make it to the World Series. Following a 3-1 divisional series win against the AL Central leaders, the Chicago White Sox, the Astros then overcame the Boston Red Sox 4-2 in the AL Championship Series. In the 2021 MLB regular season, the Atlanta Braves also managed to finish top of their division in the NL East. In the NLCS, the Braves beat the high-flying LA Dodgers, and managed to claim their spot in the World Series.
