Logan Webb vs. Elieser Hernández
The San Francisco Giants wrap up this series against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at Oracle Park.
Taking the mound for the Giants will be right-hander Logan Webb, who enters tonight’s game with a 3.38 ERA, 2.90 FIP, with 42 strikeouts to 14 walks in 53.1 innings pitched. His last start was in the Giants’ 4-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Friday, in which he allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits with six strikeouts and two walks in seven innings.
He’ll be facing off against Dodgers right-hander Elieser Hernández, who was a late scratch from starting for the Dodger’s Triple-A Oklahoma City affiliate (conveniently playing tonight in Sacramento). Instead, he’ll be making his first start for the Dodgers, and his first MLB appearance since 2022. Hernández has a career 5.04 ERA and 5.51 FIP, and his last start for Oklahoma City saw him allowing one run with eight strikeouts in five and two thirds innings.
