Robbie Ray vs. Michael Soroka.
It’s rubber match time! After a shutout win on Friday and a shutout loss on Saturday, the San Francisco Giants will square off a third time against the Washington Nationals this morning, with the series on the line.
The Giants are sending their cheat code to the mound, lefty Robbie Ray. San Francisco has won nine of Ray’s 10 starts, and he’s 6-0 with a 2.67 ERA, a 3.46 FIP, and 62 strikeouts to 27 walks in 57.1 innings. He pitched seven shutout innings agains the Kansas City Royals his last time out, which, funnily enough, was the one time the Giants have lost this year when he took the mound.
He’s up against right-hander Michael Soroka, who makes his fifth start of the year. It’s been an up-and-down year for Soroka, who is 2-2 with a 5.95 ERA, a 4.14 FIP, and 23 strikeouts against four walks in 19.1 innings. He allowed three runs in 5.2 innings against the Baltimore Orioles in his last start..
Enjoy the game! Go Giants!
