Robbie Ray vs. Slade Cecconi
The San Francisco Giants welcome the Cleveland Guardians to Oracle Park tonight to begin a three-game series.
Taking the mound for the Giants will be left-hander Robbie Ray, who enters tonight’s game with a 2.55 ERA, 2.98 FIP, with 92 strikeouts to 33 walks in 81.1 innings pitched. His last start was in the Giants’ 10-7 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday, in which he allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits with five strikeouts and two walks in four innings.
He’ll be facing off against Guardians right-hander Slade Cecconi, who enters tonight’s game with a 4.26 ERA, 5.00 FIP, with 28 strikeouts to eight walks in 25.1 innings pitched. His last start was in the Guardians’ 1-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds last Tuesday, in which he allowed one run on four hits with eight strikeouts and a walk in five innings.
