Logan Webb vs. Bryce Elder.
After a thrilling walk-off win late Friday night, the San Francisco Giants are back in action for some day baseball, as they hope to secure a series win against the Atlanta Braves. Needless to say, we all support them in this endeavor.
Taking the mound for the Giants is righty Logan Webb, who makes his MLB-leading 14th start of the season. The reigning All-Star has had a delightful year, with a 5-5 record, a 2.55 ERA, a 2.14 FIP, and 91 strikeouts against 17 walks in 81.1 innings. He leads the National League in FIP and batters faced, with 331. Webb was brilliant his last time out, tossing eight shutout innings against the San Diego Padres.
On the other side is right-hander Bryce Elder, a 26-year old who, like Webb, is a one-time All-Star. Elder has been struggling over the last two seasons though, and in nine starts this year is 2-3 with a 4.56 ERA, a 4.72 FIP, and 37 strikeouts to 16 walks in 49.1 innings. In his last start, he gave up three runs in 5.1 innings to the Boston Red Sox.
Enjoy the game, everyone. Go Giants!
