Landen Roupp vs. Shohei Ohtani.
It’s time for the penultimate game of the first half for the San Francisco Giants. And after Friday’s thrilling, rollercoaster win, they’ll look to secure a huge series win against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
For the Giants, righty Landen Roupp will try to end his brilliant first half in style. Roupp has made 18 starts in his first full season, and has gone 6-5 with a 3.39 ERA, a 3.84 FIP, and 81 strikeouts to 40 walks in 90.1 innings. He got beat up by the Dodgers a month ago, when he allowed six runs in just 1.2 innings. But in four starts since then, he’s allowed just three earned runs, total, including a one-run, five-inning outing against the Philadelphia Phillies his last time out.
He’ll not just be pitching to a superstar, but against one as well, as righty Shohei Ohtani takes the mound for the Dodgers. Ohtani is still easing back into pitching after missing all of 2024 and the first few months of this season, so he won’t be pitching deep into this one. He’s pitched in four games this year, and has six strikeouts, one walk, and one run allowed in six innings. He pitched two shutout innings against the Houston Astros in his last game.
Enjoy the action, everyone. Go Giants! Beat LA!
