The Giants are finally set to play the Dodgers this weekend. Let’s hear some of Giants fans’ favorite memories of the two teams duking it out over the years.
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants head to Southern California tonight to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first time this season.
Which means that it’s time to talk about the rivalry. I want to know some of your favorite memories of Giants vs. Dodgers games!
My personal favorite is a doozy. Let me set the stage. It was late in the 2010 season, my brother was home on leave, and I got us tickets through my workplace (also his former workplace) to attend a Giants vs. Dodgers game with a ton of coworkers.
At that point, my brother believed he was cursed and that every game he attended would always end up being a loss. But he sure didn’t feel that way after this game.
Not only did the Giants win that game, they won 10-2 and took first place in the division in doing so. Watching the flags get re-arranged, the seagulls and fog soaring in, listening to Tony Bennett and seeing the grin on my brother’s face. Yeah, that one’s not going to be topped for a long time.
It’s his birthday today and I know he reads these, so Happy Birthday Will!
