The Giants top starting pitching duo is heading to the 2025 All-Star Game.
The San Francisco Giants had three players selected to 2025 MLB All-Star Game as reserves on Sunday. The Giants pitching staff, which has been one of the best in MLB this season, had three players selected, ace Logan Webb, lefty Robbie Ray, and top setup reliever Randy Rodríguez. While other Giants could be selected as alternates as injuries and scheduling conflicts lead players to drop out of the game, San Francisco’s trio of pitchers were the most likely selections.
It is both Ray and Webb’s second-career All-Star game selections. Webb is currently leading the league in innings pitched for the third consecutive season, recording 133 strikeouts, 27 walks, and a 2.62 ERA (2.33 FIP) in 120.1 innings. Ray has racked up 117 strikeouts, 39 walks, and a 2.68 ERA (3.45 FIP) in 107.1 innings pitched.
The selection will undeniably have some extra meaning for Rodríguez, a first-time All-Star, who has earned the selection in his first full big-league campaign. The righty has been a force in the Giants bullpen for manager Bob Melvin. The 25-year old has a 0.71 ERA (1.35 FIP) with 53 strikeouts and just 8 walks in 38 innings pitched (38 appearances). One of just three relievers selected to the National League team, Rodríguez is far younger than his counterparts Edwin Díaz (31) and Jason Adam (33).
