A new week of San Francisco Giants baseball is upon us, so let’s take a look ahead at what’s on deck for this week.
With one week to go until this year’s All-Star break, the Giants get to spend it at home. First up, they will welcome the Philadelphia Phillies to Oracle Park tonight to begin a three-game series. After a day off on Thursday, they will welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers to town to wrap up the first half of the season.
I think it’s a pretty easy decision this week. While the Phillies series should provide more than enough of a challenge for the Giants as they’ve been playing lately, I’ve got to pick the Dodgers series because it’s the Dodgers. I want so badly for the Giants to beat the Dodgers, that the hope of that possibility outweighs the likely eventuality that they will, in fact, lose to the Dodgers. A girl can dream, at least.
