RHP Zack Littell was recalled from AAA Sacramento to take Duggar’s place.
Hello and happy Sunday.
The San Francisco Giants made a roster move on Saturday, prior to their game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Outfielder Steven Duggar was optioned to AAA Sacramento, while RHP Zack Littell was recalled.

It’s a tough break for Duggar, who is having a brilliant breakthrough season. But Brandon Belt’s return pushed LaMonte Wade Jr. back to the outfield, making Duggar the fourth lefty outfielder on the depth chart, behind Wade, Mike Yastrzemski, and Alex Dickerson.
Add in the arrival of Kris Bryant, an everyday player who can man all three outfield spots, and it was getting difficult for Duggar to find playing time. Plus, the Giants had played back-to-back 10-inning games, and were running with a bullpen game on Saturday.
So Duggar falls prey to the numbers crunch game. But it seems likely that he’ll be back at some point.
In other news, according to the Giants tweet, LHP Conor Menez cleared waivers and was outrighted to AAA. I personally did not know that the Giants had a player named Conor Menez. I wonder if he is related to Conner Menez, whom the Giants designated for assignment on Wednesday to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Tommy La Stella.
