Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants are about to wrap up another week of baseball, which means it’s time to take a look back at the week that was and find out what stood out most to you.
For me, it’s an easy choice. It doesn’t get any better than Heliot Ramos’ walk-off little league home run in Sunday’s 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers.
I sadly did not get to watch it as it aired, but when I did get to watch it on Monday morning, it was very clear that it was a work of art. Every frame, a masterpiece. Every word uttered by a broadcaster, perfection. The incredulity of the Rangers’ broadcaster? Phenomenal. The joyful banter of Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper? Glorious.
Some key highlights, for me. First, Willy Adames racing Ramos to the plate and nearly ripping his shirt off trying to pull him up off of the ground and into the celebration. Ramos himself giving a perfect freeze-frame smile as he reached the plate. Jung Hoo Lee getting smacked upside the head by the lid of the container of Sports Drink as they dumped it on Ramos and not even batting an eye.
Perfection. Absolute perfection. I’m still laughing just thinking about it.
