The Giants dropped a bombshell over the weekend when they announced a trade for Red Sox slugger Rafael Devers. How are Giants fans feeling about it?
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants shocked the baseball world on Sunday when it was announced that they had traded for Boston Red Sox slugger Rafael Devers.
So today I wanted to check in and see how everyone is feeling about this trade.
Personally, I am excited, of course. But I can’t help but scratch my head in confusion as to why the Red Sox decided to part with him. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve read the explanations, but I still don’t get it.
It’s like the Red Sox saw the A’s way of doing things and said “hold my be-ah” (yes, that was my best attempt at a written Boston accent. It’s not the biggest insult Bostonians have had to deal with this week, so I’m gonna allow it.)
As I saw someone note on Bluesky on Sunday, the Red Sox would be kicked out of any fantasy league for the trades they’ve put together for some of their best players over the last few years and I’m inclined to agree.
But ultimately I’m not complaining. I am excited to see what Devers does at Oracle Park. And my confidence in Buster Posey has increased dramatically for making it happen.
How are you feeling about the Devers trade?
Also, don’t forget to vote for the All Star Game! As a reminder, we’re still doing a push for Matt Chapman, Wilmer Flores, Heliot Ramos and Jung Hoo Lee. And I would assume Devers himself now too. So vote early, vote often, and go Giants!
